Australian ambassador to Lebanon Ms Stephanie Shwabsky visited Jieh Sat Sept 4th 2004. First stop for the ambassador was at the Municipality where she was greeted by the council president Dr George N Azzi and the council members. Afterwards the ambassador visited Our lady of the Star church where a large crowd was lined up waiting to greet her. Church pastor Fr Sup. Selim Nammour met the ambassador in front of the Church and the ambassador toured the Church grounds, the dispensary and St Charbel's monastery, a ribbon cutting ceremony was then held at the Australian Lebanese House on the church ground which was officially opened by Ms Shwabsky. A dinner was held on the ambassador's honor at the Jonas beach in Jieh.
