New Pastor

Postby george » Sat Jun 16, 2007 7:11 am

Since the early 60's , St Charbel monastery in Jieh has served Jieh and the surrounding Christians communities faithfully. Its priests served Jieh tirelessly and with dedications. Now the new Saida Bishop has decided to appoint a new priest (Khouri) from outside St Charbel monastery to serve the Jieh community. That new appointement will severly strain the re-construction of the new Church with the finanacials strings associated with such an appointment.

can't we ask the batrak to change the situation? why do we have to deal with a priest who's not going to be help the community?

Charbel,
Its great that you're going to Deeman, I got worried that you're making an open invitation at the 11th hour for a croud. I hope the delegation is already in place with strong agenda and plan to present to his imminence.

Good luck!

Although a moutran has the right to enforce a new parish priest on a parish, the parish also has a right to reject him and the priest.

Is that actually true or are you just saying that?

Jieh1,

This is nonsense. it is your opinion not a fact. The church is not a Democracy and never was. Go back and read its history and those who paid for their dissent. remember Marat?

Haroun, I don't remember marat. but as much as it sounds weird I remember that churches moves with money. so if the money stops or shifts then they reconsider their options.
