From Jieh, I am not sure. There are a few people going, but as according to the travel agencies, flights to Lebanon are almost as booked as it was last year.
My best bet is that it wont get as bad as it was last year. Nothing usually happens in Jieh if something were to happen. I don't think it should be a problem.
It depends on how long you wish to go for, but it seems the country is in damage control at the moment and it would be a while before anyone decides to raise a gun again unless there may be some internal disputes.

You should be fine, you probably have more of a chance of getting hit by a bus on the Australian holiday season.

Have fun

I am intending to go with my family this (Lebanon) summer. Don't let the political situation turn you off going. It can't be as bad as last summer, and if a scuffle enrupts, well, last year everyone got out alright. Just go. Life's short; but a life without having been to Lebanon is a life half-lived!

AJ I may be still complaining 1 year on.. but your mob in southern beirut will be still complaining about the government for the next 100 years.

Perhaps I should repeat my story once more...

Go. Do not let the terrorists win, terrorists are losers, they always were, and they forever shall be.

Thanks, I'll try and think of something new to criticise.
Meanwhile, check out the AJYC section of the forum and tell me what you think

Criticising the AJCC would be a good start. Before we change and revolutionise Lebanon, let's start with our village.

I saw the AJYC section and i just comented. I posted on their discussion board hopefully they will consider our proposals. I noticed your post, charboulas post and Jiehtes.

Are jiehonliners they only people concerned about our village, its elders and its youth? Or are we just the most vocal?
