Good Friday

Postby Abou Jamra » Mon Jun 25, 2007 11:30 am

I bet you the Christian ministers did not even participate in the debate on this issue. They are mere observers, no more no less.

So apparantly Good Friday is not good enough anymore for a public holiday given its the holiest day on the Christian calender?

Bravo bravo, keep it up.

Lets the bald head and the orange head keep arguing while the rest rape us.

Tourism Minister Joe Sarkis had defended the move, saying that the government had intended to make Lebanon's holidays "the same as those of other Arab countries."

Can someone point to country that has more official holidays than Lebanon? 16 paid holidays place a huge burden on employers and tax payers who finance the government.

Imagine 16 official Holidays and as many days off that result from mournig on a murdered political figure or Hizb fatass celebration.

Let's be reasonnable, about Good Friday, How many people you know (unless he belongs to a religious order), wake up on that morning and say: Thank god for this Holiday, I needed it to catch up on my prayors.
As far as I know, it's at most a two hour burial ceremony that starts at 3PM by which time businesses and schools are shutdown anyway.

I think the number of paid Holidays should be reduced to 10, and the work hours should be increased to 48 a week. This way productivity may get back to normal, and people won't have lot of sapre time to engage in useless political discussions.

Shame on anyone who has made this an issue. Good Friday is the holiest day of the Christian calendar, and if any day deserves respect and a "holiday" it's this day. Ya Aabish shoum.

And other thing, Lebanon is NOT AN ARAB COUNTRY! get the ^&%$ over it, stop fuelling this b.s. Read up on your history and National Geographic DNA facts (study into the Phoenicians - we are NOT arab). I don't want to hear about this anymore.

It is not only Good Friday that is being considered taken off, but also read this part:
The Cabinet had also approved other changes to the official holiday schedule - making the Monday after Easter a holiday and removing one day from the two-day Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.

If you realised, this was made to increase productivity by decreasing the amount of holidays due to the fact that there are simply no more days to work on! IF IT WASNT FOR YOUR PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A POLITICAL MOVEMENT "THE ORANGE ORDER WHINGERS & CO" AJ, AND THEIR PATHETIC LITTLE MARDI GRAS FANFARE ON THE STREETS OF BEIRUT EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE YEAR, THEN THERE WOULDNT BE A NEED TO HAVE TO REDUCE THE HOLIDAYS TO INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY WOULD THERE?????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Fact it is the Muslims who are losing out one day, while ours is merely changed from a Friday to a Monday holiday. Nobody has to go to work on Good Friday, plus the Christian religious leaders can appeal against it and it will be changed, for goodness sake they appealed against the 400,000 Palestinian refugees who were naturalized illegally, and they had their citizenships revoked in 1994 by decree.. if that can happen, then anything can.

Get your eyes back on the main picture and think why the government have felt the need to do things like that, because you retards from the orange opposition keep squeezing each other's necks and fighting like headless chickens day in day out like real rock-headed retards with tunnel vision, acting even dumber than dog poo.

Do not for 1 second think you are any better than them because you are both of the same source of manure hitting the fan above Lebanon.

Actually Lebanon has gained independence at least 4 times in the last 70 years, the problem is every time someone comes in and steals it. Abd en nasser in 58, The Palestinians in 69 and 75, Syria in 76, and today Saudi terrorists fighting for their Islamic emirate in the north while hizballah terrorist are consolidating power in their Islamic Republic in the beka, Beirut and the south with the help of Aoun and his rotten orange.
We should continue to celebrate our National day despite all, and defend our independence against these thieves.
