Lahoud backs Aoun as successor

But of course. Why else is this political turmoil occurring to force the government to include the opposition by giving them a veto power??

Think about it... Presidential elections next year.... Um... Any idiot would realise it's the government who votes a new president.

But no Aoun in government, means no Aoun to be voted as president.. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that's why they want the veto to block any non-Aoun candidate from getting president. :-)

Prince, are you sure it's the government who votes a new president? check your info.

About who Lahoous wants as successor, someone needs to remind this stupid syrian agent that his country is not a lahoudian kingdom and no one had paid attention to what he had to say in over 5 years.

Haround, do you mean government as opposed to parliament? I could be mistaken it might be the parliament, but still. The opposition is not in control of the parliament. The presidential elections would still be won by the anti-Syria majority when they vote for it.

The Hizbullah-led opposition has warned that it would step up its protests against Prime Minister Fouad Saniora's government if Arab League mediation failed to meet its demands for a national unity government.

HEZBOLLAH CRITICIZES ECONOMIC REFORM PLAN

An-Nahar wrote:The statement said Hizbullah "welcomes any financial or technical assistance by international donors … but it also warns against accepting any political commitments affiliated with it which would have repercussions on the Lebanese social fabric."

Does that include Hezbollah's international political commitments that are affiliated with Syria/Iran contra Israel that had repercussions on Lebanese soil?? Or is it double standards again where it doesn't apply to them?... Liars.

Have anyone heard of a HA economic plan? No. These people specialize in begging, nagging and disrupting.

The best way to describe their attitude from that article: "Sh77ad w msharet!" or pan handlers with attitude.

That's because HA is never anything in its own right, but just an anti-force. The negative of someone else's individual actions and thoughts. That's why they only seek to destroy what other people thought of themselves instead of bringing in something new and original and co-existing with other trends.

OPPOSITION TO STAGE 'SYMBOLIC' DEMONSTRATIONS

An-nahar wrote:He (Hezbollah MP Amine Cherri) said the demonstrations "are not meant to be massive, but symbolic," threatening that the protests will "extend to the rest of Lebanon."

Meanwhile, trucks flying Hizbullah flags unloaded tons of debris, dirt and stones in at least 12 spots along the highway leading to Rafik Hariri International airport as army troops watched without trying to prevent them.

Hizbullah-run bulldozers moved to erect earth mounds along the highway, to prevent citizens from reaching the airport.

They ran out of room in their neighbourhoods to dump left over debris from last summer's war.

Michel Aoun wrote:According to Aoun, blocking traffic by blazing roadblocks to force the resignation of Premier Fouad Saniora's majority government was a "legal action. We did not attack people or private property."

So does that mean Israel was right in attacking Lebanese bridges and cutting traffic all across the country just because it felt like it? It seems to give that impression.

Lebanese Suspect Testifies to Planting Bomb on German TrainA Lebanese citizen testified to judicial interrogators Monday to planting one of the bombs used in last year's abortive attempt to blow up two German trains, a judicial official in Beirut said.
The suspect, Jihad Hamad, told an investigating magistrate that he was trying to avenge the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad, the official said.

OHH BUT HOW COULD THIS BE?!!! Is it possible that it is NOT the work of the Israeli Mossad? But of course this must be a fabrication!...

Let's sum up the demands of the Shia and their protégées today:
19 +11 - We say never
No International Tribunal - We say it will be a reality within weeks. The monkey of Reef Dimashk and his dogs will be brought to justice.
The rest are not worth mentioning.
So far fat ass and his little general are on a loosing streak. Well! Some people can't seem to get it right.
