University
Alot of Jieh Youth Finished there Hsc this year and are planning to go to University!
One is me!
I had the choice between the CITY campus of UTS or USYD and The penrith/cambeltown Campus of UWS (univeristy of western sydney)
many people have advised me to go to a city uni for the higher reputation, but the UWS campuses are a 10 minute drive from my house as apposed to the 4 hours worth of travel to the city from where i live.
what is everyones thoughts about this? Does the Uni matter?
i have calculated that if i go to a city Univeristy throughout the duration of my course i will spend 7500+ hours of Travel! I think this can be spent doing something Productive!
YEt i still get my "elder and wiser uncles/relatives telling me to go to a more reputable uni"

Hey,
I am in Year 12 this year and will soon begin looking into applying for University.
As i look into various universities, their UAI cut offs are considerably different and in terms of distance from where i live, there to is a difference.
I think in the end you will turn out the same and that the time wasted on travel could be utilised for study or recreation.
But despite my views, many people say Universities like UNSW,UTS and others in the City ,have better reputation and offer better emplyment oppurtunities.
I dont know what to focus on ?

If you want a degree, study until you get it. What matters is what you make of university wherever you are.
Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

Go west Young Man
If you want to study then do not go to USYD. They do not even offer part time night subjects. And you will find that you may have one hour lecture or class a day . So are you going to travel for four hours for that one hour class???.
I went to UTS and it was fine but alot of my friends went to the lesser known universities and still have got good jobs. It all depends on your degree you are doing and how well you do it. Good Luck
